On Majeediyya

I had wanted to write about this on the 19th - being the anniversary of Majeediyya. I was a 'graduate' of the school many years ago and I still have a strong sense of belonging to the school. I truly believe that my few years in Majeediyya gave me a lot and contributed to making me who I am today.

I was in Majeediyya when they buried the time capsule to be opened at the school's 100th anniversary. Sad thing is, when the time comes, we probably would have to dig it up - from another School! That brings me to my point. On splitting Majeediyya into two schools. All the history was just split up in a matter of months for 'administrative reasons'. Perhaps the people who took the decision did not feel the importance of history. Furthermore, did they achieve any purpose? Perhaps they had some 'friends' whom they wanted to give senior school positions?

I call upon the authorities to combine both schools. To make sure that come Majeediyya's 100th anniversary, we can dig up that time capsule from the grounds of Majeediyya, not another school!
